Help us protect the Freedom Pass.

London Councils has announced that there will be a review into the cost of the Freedom Pass. There is a chance the review recommends that the Freedom Pass is scaled back or even cut.

We do not support any change to the Freedom Pass.

Please donate what you can to help us campaign against the review and any changes. We are planning a number of actions and we need your support. But all campaigns takes time, resources and many other costs. That's why we are asking for your help.

We are a small team, campaigning on a number of issues on behalf of older Londoners, and our resources are limited so we use mailings, online platforms and the team travel to meetings to meet older people and decisionmakers to get as much support as possible for campaigns. That includes our Freedom Pass Campaign.

We have had hundreds of people write to us to say how any changes to the Freedom Pass will affect them. Yvonne who is 88 years old said "I depend on it for shopping, hospital appointments and visits to friends." 77 year old Priscilla said "I use this a lot, 6 days a week for my activities and for my doctors and hospital appointments. If you take this away you are taking away the freedom of elderly people and you will be dealing  with people with mental health issues."

This sums up the sentiment of many older Londoners and we want to ensure that people like Yvonne and Priscilla are having to make choices because they cannot afford to travel.

We must protect the Freedom Pass for the current generation and for future generations - please help us in any way that you can.

Thank you from the team at Age UK London.
